I have been studying photojournalism for about two years now and I have never seen a book near the quality and content of this book. If you are just looking to get into the field or have been in the field for years, get this book. It opens your mind as to what photojournalism, the content, what to look for, where to look, and so much more.

5 out of 5 stars NOT just for aspiring professionls   October 24, 2008

I have Professor Kobre's Lightscoop and I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. My pictures really do look professional now!

Anyway, I decided to get Professor Kobre's book even though there's no way I'm ever going to be a professional photojournalist. Yes, it's aimed at people who want to be professionals. BUT this book is just loaded with information, including strategies on taking candid pictures... which I do all the time (or try to) with my family and friends. Plus, the pictures in this book are amazing even if you don't read it. But the text is easy to read, too! Professor Kobre dissects and explains technical information so that even people like me can understand.

Still don't want to be a real photojournalist but that doesn't mean I can't learn from professionals! Great book great value for the price!

5 out of 5 stars Best source for serious photojournalist/photographers   October 12, 2008
Carolyn E. Golding (Ithaca, NY.)
I consider this book the best source for information I have found on the topic of photojournalism & photography. Most important it covers the subjects of editing & ehtics & good judgement. If more photographers read & learned from this source maybe the world would be a better place. No joke intended. I plan to keep buying the newest addition as it is updated.
