Product Description
A wintry seascape with a line of sunset pink shimmering in silky blue darkness. Sheets of brilliantly gleaming water cascading over cliffs. Golden skies illuminating rivers, green grass, and craggy rocks. All these astonishing images come from the camera of Peter Watson, one of the world's finest photographers. But this is more than just a breathtaking coffee book: it's an invaluable source of inspiration and instruction that will help you too capture the magnificence of a landscape. Through over 100 of his best works, he explains how he got the picture, what techniques and filters he used, the ways he developed depth and texture in the composition, and more. Month by month, it tracks seasonal changes, seizing nature in all its splendor.

Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars Wonderful pictures, excellent prose   March 27, 2006

U.K. photographer Peter Watson goes over British/Scottish/Welsh landscape photographic opportunities throughout each month. His pictures are extraordinary, many with phenomenal skies. That's one of his keys and you can tell he has a great deal of patience (and, apparently, a flexible schedule) to be in the right place at the right time.

As a photographer, I found his explanations behind each picture excellent -- detailed, yet still fascinating to anyone with any sort of interest in the artistic process of photography. But those pictures! They'll keep you coming back to Light in the Landscape time and time again.

As it's apparently not available here, try ordering it through amazon.uk.

4 out of 5 stars Inspiration for landscape phtographers   August 18, 2008
P. J. A. Dijk (Netherlands)
This book is organized by the calendar since the months are covered in separate chapters. The pictures are very good. The 'why' and 'how' of each picture is described with each picture. This helped me in improving my own photography.

Pros: The pictures are organized by season, the author explein very wall conditions and tips on taking pictures in his travel.

Cons:
- The author uses my grandfather camera. All showed settings on pictures are useless for amateurs with digital SRL.
- The author has taken most of the pictures on north England and Scotland. So it focuses on specific region weather tips.
